All the parts for the E21 have been coming with the OEM German/English labels on them (not a lot of aftermarket stuff out there) and have been shipping in an order that bears no relation to the time at which I ordered them.

So, after the appearance of the latest mystery box on my doorstep, I now know that the German for "air intake" is Schnorchel. Which makes me laugh every time I think about it - because, really, they should all be called Schnorchels.

(I'm saving all the labels, but this is by far the funniest one I've gotten.)

Schnorchel isn't "air intake" as such, it's a snorkel in the English sense of the word so I guess that BMW's part looks something like the snorkel used by a diver.

So you'll need to post a picture and we can all decide...

At least they didn't name it "Snorkus" after the commonly called Subaru intake resonator
